The "Super Snake" is a nasty monster!  Thanks to a Ford racing supercharger it produces a earth shaking 725 HP.  First introduced in 2007, the Super Snake package for the GT500 quickly became the benchmark for current generation muscle cars.  Did I mention that it's sitting on some pretty sweet 20-inch wheels.  So you want one yet?  Well first you have to buy a 2010 GT500 which will set you back $47,175 and then expect to cough up another $33,495 to get the 725 hp Super Snake package.

Weighing in at over 5300 lbs BMW's new X6 M is no light weight.  Do not worry because BMW's engineers were sure to add enough horses to the 4.4-liter V8 powerplant.  They put a lot of thought into the twin-turbos that help produce 555 hp at 6000 rpm and 500 lb-ft of torque.  To reduce turbo lag BMW engineered an intelligent exhaust system that always provides a constant flow to the turbos.  All of this helps launch the car to 60 MPH in a brief 4.4 seconds.  The top speed is electronically limited at 155 MPH but the car could easily do well over 170 MPH and having 315/35/20's in the back and 275/40/20's in the front make the car's stance aggressive and confident.  It also allows BMW to fit discs that are over 15 inches in both the front and the rear.... those are some serious brakes!!

Set to debut at Frankfurt's show in September the SLS is a beautiful work of art.  The 6.2-liter V-8 produces 563 HP at 6800 RPM and 479 lb-ft of torque at 4750 rpm. Expect new upgrades with many different components from the exhaust and the magnesium intake to dual clutch manual transmission.  Expect the sprint to 60 to take less then four seconds and be prepared to get dangerously close to the 200 mph top speed mark.

The new GT500 is a well engineered evolution of the 2009 Shelby GT500.  Ford played around with the fifth and sixth gear ratios and couple that with the increased power and torque you can expect some pretty nasty 0-60 sprints.  The Ford screams all the way up through the gears and is able to get to 60 in around 4 seconds flat.  You can feel every one of those 540 horses just waiting to be unleashed and the sweet exhaust note is all you need to confirm that you are driving a true beast.  Raw power is something that this car is not lacking.

Acura's new NSX did a few laps at the Nurburgring and the numbers are impressive.  In some preliminary runs it's just 8 seconds behind the Nissan GTR bringing home a time of 7:37.  We knew that this car was in the works a couple years ago but we didn't take Honda engineers seriously when they chuckled at the GTR and said that their new NSX would blow it out of the water.  The Super Handling All Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) is supposed to be the most advanced in the world.  Mate that with the 550 HP 5.5 liter V10 and you have your self one serious car.  

From its breath taking styling to its heart stopping performance, the Lamborghini LP 670-4 SV absolutely screams exotic. This Lambo stands out like a sore thumb from the rest of the automotive crowd. Powered by a 6.5 liter race bred 60 degree V-12 engine, this raging bull reaches 60 mph in a mere 3.2 seconds and will not stop its charge until the needle is nearly hitting the 220 mph marker. A work of art, the LP 670-4 is more than form following function. Just look at the honey comb glass engine cover, and you will understand the art in this equation. Both stronger and lighter than the LP 640, this is not just a machine, its a precise tool designed to cover ground. The LP 670-4 is not for everyone, and the $450k price tag is just one aspect that will make that obvious. But if you are one of the rare individuals who can not only afford it, but have the taste for one of these flamboyant cars, you will certainly get your moneys worth.

Honda's tuner Mugen has a European counterpart called Euro Mugen which is set to release its own model of car. Based on the Honda Civic Type-R, the Mugen will have some small engine modifications along with some serious suspension work. The Honda Mugen Type-R already had a reputation for being one of the best, if not the best, handling front drive cars in the world. This is a true drivers car and was known for out classing many established dedicated rear drive sports cars. The Euro Mugen Type-R will feature a 2.0 liter inline 4 i-VTEC engine that revs up to 9000 rpm. This little high winding motor is good for an impressive 220 horsepower, meaning that this powerplant surpasses that magical 100 horsepower per liter mark. Acceleration is adequate but not notable, with a 0-60 time of 5.6 seconds. On the track this type of car is really ideal, and it shows with its high cornering speeds and fast transitions. The Mugen Type-R is a beautifully engineered compact car.

The 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 was an instant hit from the day it hit the market. Sporting a 638 horsepower supercharged LS-9 V8, the ZR-1 became one of the fastest and best performing cars over night. With a top speed of over 200 mph and a record setting 7 minute 26 second lap of the Nurburgring, who would need more power and performance? The folks at Hennessey believe there was still room for improvement, and believe it or not, they found a way to do it. With its upgraded supercharger and its superior induction and exhaust systems, the Z700 is now putting out 705 horsepower and 717 ft-lbs of torque. Keep in mind that the car weighs 3300 lbs! Then throw in some suspension and wheel modifications and you get the idea. This car is a serious machine designed to simply annihilate anything you put it against, and for sure, you'd be hard pressed to find something that could take this Vette out. The cost of admission is a staggering $200,000 USD, which can be a little hard to swallow when you pull out of a Chevy dealer. Still, based on the performance that this car is capable of, this is a relative bargain.

Bmw is releasing its X6 M sports activity vehicle for the North American within the next couple months. This uniquely shaped sporty crossover fills a very demanding niche for the mid life crisis stricken crowd. Being a crossover but only seating 4 persons renders this model somewhat unpractical. Further complicating its existence is the fact that it is smaller and more expensive than its big brother the BMW X5. But despite these negatives, it still excels in its niche market. No other car can really meet its unique blend of performance, quality, and style. Infiniti came suprisingly close to outclassing the X6 with its FX50S crossover, but now that the M variant of the X6 is here it is safe to say that this bimmer will excell in that matchup. The powerplant is a new 4.4 liter twin turbo V8 with an impressive output of 555 horsepower and 500 ft-lbs of torque. This new engine is sporting a new twin screw turbo that is supposed to eliminate lag completely. This system is probably very similar to the N54 twin turbo engine that debuted in the 335i, which featured a low inertia turbo and a regular turbo to target different areas in the engines power curve. Unconfirmed sources claim a 4.5 second 0-60 time, which is certainly believable. One thing is for sure about this SAV, its going to be a real track star.

The all new 2010 Porsche Panamera is finally ready to make its North American Debut this August. After a year of hype and rumors about everything from its sheet metal to its powerplant, Americans will now be able to see for themselves what Porsches new 4 door sedan is all about. The Panamera's styling is somewhat subjective due to the fact that is almost resembles a station wagon or a hatch back over a 4 door sedan. Its design seems to be very purposeful though, and its obvious that the classic 911 shape had a lot of influence in the Panamera's shape. Power comes from a trusted line of engines in Porsches naturally aspirated and turbo V8's, both displacing 4.8 liters. The non-turbo's output is 400 horsepower while the turbo is putting out a healthy 500. Expect to see an "S" variant added to the turbo lineup at some point down the road, utilizing the Cayenne Turbo S's 550 horsepower engine. Regardless of the styling, this sports sedan is sure to please from the drivers seat. European models have impressed critics already. The turbo model is putting up 4 second 0-60 mph times, and a claimed top speed of 188 mph. When BMW's new M5 comes out in about a year, there will surely be fireworks when the two sedans go head to head. 

Ford has just released the newest edition of the Shelby GT500 Mustang, and believe me this car is a real hot rod. With a look under its long curvaceous hood, the 5.4 liter supercharged V8 looks absolutely beautiful. This power plant is serving up 40 more horsepower from the previous model, with an output of 540 horsepower. There are also numerous suspension and chassis upgrades also which allow the GT500 to post some very impressive lap times at the track. Most impressive are the looks of this classic American muscle car. The styling is very retro yet still contemporary. This is one hot ride.

Hennessey, a trusted automotive tuner that has modified some of the worlds best performing cars has just worked its magic on the 2010 Chevy Camaro. The HPE550 Camaro is what Hennessey now offers SS Camaro owners if they are not satisfied with the car factory settings. The 2010 Camaro SS which was not exactly a slouch in its stock form, was already serving up 400 horsepower. With this new package, the HPE550 is now putting out 562 horsepower and accelerating to 60 mph in just 4.1 seconds. Along with some considerable suspension modifications, the HPE550 is really given a serious dose of sport. Expect the pricing to be in the $60k ballpark for the car and its modifications.

Lexus's LF-A super car concept that was first displayed back in 2005 has just been cleared by Toyota for production. This super car is the very first entry by either Lexus or Toyota into the exotic car market. Toyota, with its extensive background in Formula 1 has utilized its racing technology to develop the engine. Unconfirmed reports say that the LF-A will utilize the 4.9 liter V10 engine that was displayed at the Tokyo motor show in 2008. This power plant is said to be good for well over 500 naturally aspirated high revving horsepower. Lexus claims that the LF-A will be capable of surpassing the 200 mph mark as well. Pricing is expected to be in the $150-200,000 range, and Lexus will only release a limited number of LF-A's in the US market. Expect the LF-A to hit showrooms in mid to late 2010.

BMW's has just jumped on the all wheel drive bandwagon with its new 2010 7-Series sedan. In an industry where more and more vehicles are being offered with an all wheel drive setup, BMW has finally offered a model in its 7-Series lineup to answer the consumers demand. Utilizing an updated version of its x-Drive system, the big BMW is able to really hustle around in less than perfect conditions. This all wheel drive system allows the car to split its torque between different wheels in order to utilize the most of its grip and power. In conjunction with the 7-Series powerful 4.4 liter twin turbo V8, this all wheel drive system truly offers some of the sportiest and imperceptible, all weather performance that money can buy. BMW seems to understand that part of luxury means being able to transport yourself to wherever you need to go reliably. In the 2010 7-Series, all wheel drive practicality is executed wonderfully at no expense to the driving experience.

Mercedes Benz has just launched its new AMG fortified variant of its E-Class sports sedan, the E 63 AMG. For 2010 the E Class receives a complete redesign as well as a long list of new technological features. You can expect to see a new multi-clutch transmission and optional ceramic disc brakes on this new Benz. The power plant receives minor upgrades for 2010, still utilizing the bulletproof 6.2 liter V8 from the previous model. Horsepower is up to 518, an increase of 11 ponies over the last E 63. Torque is relatively unchanged at 465 ft-lbs. The E 63's performance is also not too far from its predecessor, with an estimated 0-60 mph time of around 4.3 seconds, although there should be a considerable improvement in the handling department. The mercedes also sports a completely new suspension system that allows for more comfort and more importantly, better performance. Mercedes has done a good job with its latest AMG model and if people can accept its aggressive styling, it is sure to be a hit.
